Malaga Metro Line 2
Extension of the existing Metro Line 2 in Málaga, between Guadalmedina and Hospital Civil
Its objective : improving urban connectivity, promoting public transport use, and contributing to reduced travel times and air pollution in the city
During the preliminary design phase, TPF developed eight different alternatives across four corridors, exploring various alignment options. Four alternatives were based on the diaphragm wall tunnel construction, while the other four proposed the use of a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) method.
The selected alternative, identified during the preliminary phase, was further developed into the detailed design.
It includes:
- 1.8 km of underground infrastructure
- Three new metro stations
- Electrified double track designed for speeds of up to 70 km/h
- A maximum depth of 24 metres
The project was designed using BIM methodology, applying the Railway Innovation Hub’s BIM classification system for rail infrastructure.
Our mission(s)
- Phase 1: Preliminary design
- Phase 2: Detailed design
